The world we live in is a truly remarkable and beautiful place. With my nature photography I try to show how I see the world and the beauty of things in their natural state.
ALING-ALING WATERFALL, BALI, INDONESIA
This is an image of the mighty Aling-Aling waterfall. The shot is taken holding my camera through a couple of bushes. The green leaves of the tropical forest that surrounds the waterfall can be seen on the corners of the frame. The fall is centered and stands tall amongst the green vegetation. At the bottom the water hits the smooth wet rock giving a most powerful backspray. Making the already humid air of the forest even denser. The continues amount of water flowing every minute without stop has formed a small natural pool which I most definitely jumped in to after taking the shot.
TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY - By Oliver Sjöström
These are places my camera has taken me. With my travel photography I try to expresses the feeling of a time and a place. To capture the landscape, mountains, waterfalls, monuments and people I was traveling with.
CATCH THE LIGHT
Photograph of a girl in a red dress running through what looks like a gate, formed by two pillars with a buddhist artistic style to them. Alongside the road she is running on, in the end of is a light formed by what looks like a motorbike. The surrounding is all green tropical forest and the vegetation has grown on tho the pillars making the red dress and the girl really stand out in the center of the frame. The photo is taken in portrait mode to get the full height of the pillars and incorporate the clouds that lay on top of the mountain in the background. The photograph is taken in Bali, Indonesia, 2018.
DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY - BY OLIVER SJÖSTRÖM
This is my drone photography from around the world. I love the aerial perspective I get by incorporating drone work into my photography. It really helps to convey the story of a place.
This drone capture of a beautiful coastline show the beautiful colors of nature. On the top of the frame is the green of the forest, whilst in the middle is the white sand that slowly fades into the light blue colors of the ocean. This photograph was taken in Indonesia, Bali, Padang Padang in 2018 By Oliver Sjöström, Ollivves
It takes courage to swim out to a shallow reef where the waves are beating hard. Currents are strong, and the risk of drowning, let alone getting hit by a surfer is real. But the fear quickly turns into adrenalin. It's one of the greatest feelings on earth. Not to talk about the feeling of taking the camera out of the waterhousing and re-live the whole thing again. And knowing you got a banger shot. This is where my passion for photography beats the hardest. I really love surf photography.
GREATEST ONE YET
Close up photograph of surfer ripping through a wave. Water splashes around the surfer as he is turning the surfboard on the face of the wave. His long hair and tanned body covered with water forming like drops because of the speed he is coming at. Speed created by the force of the sea. He is holing out his arms to keep his balance.
Sun, sex and bikinis. I almost enjoy this type of photography as much as I do eating good food.
I don't know why, but it almost seems like my mind is set on autopilot towards the sea. The flow and shapelessness of water. The feeling you get when you get in it, touching against your skin. A different perspective of the world. Ocean photography is never boring.
The art lies in the masters who make it. I just take photos of it. And who doesn't like food...am I right? :)
You could tell a thousand stories with a single portrait photo. The viewer decides which stories to tell.
Places of which I envy the "feng shui".
Some of the brands that I have worked with and created content for. Mainly for their social media channels. Björn Borg, A-Z Sportswear, ICANIWILL, VitaminWell, Junkyard to mention a couple.
There is beauty and wonder in the man-made as well. This is my take on trying to capture that beauty.
