Second time around

Photograph of a woman with a blue dress standing between two pillars in a white mosque with very unique and beautiful handcrafted architecture. This photograph was taken by Oliver Sjöström, ollivves, in Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 2018.

I’d been in Abu Dhabi before. In fact, at this right spot. But that was before I fell in love with photography. This time around I had my mind set on capturing this specific shot. We went to the mosque one evening, my sister and I. (That’s the girl in the photo btw. You see the beauty runs in the family ;) Anyways, back to the story: The place was crowded, light conditions where bad and turning into shit for every second that went by. Golden hour had already passed. We tried to get some shots, but I wasn't at all happy with them. My mood turned into a 70 year old grandpa who’s back hurt from working on a coal mine all his life. That’s usually how things go when things don’t go my way. I’m sorry for that sis, you know I love you. The next morning I woke up, called my sister, and asked her if she wanted to try again. And shore thing she was game. This time around the mosque was a lot less crowded, and the sun was high in the sky. The photograph you see here is the result. Up to this day I personally feel that this is one of the best pieces of photography that I have created. Thank you for helping me out with this sis… This one is going up on a wall.
